Symptoms

When trying to integrate a connection to VMWare Vcenter through Citrix Studio for the first time the following error appears:

"Cannot connect to the VCenter server due to a certificate error, make sure that the appropriate certificate are installed"

Cause

The VMWare vcenter cannot communicate with the Citrix Studio with SSL Secured channel since vCenter  requires HTTPS access

Resolution

Obtain the vCenter certificate using any of the following methods:

• Copy the file rui.crt from the vCenter C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\SSL
• Download the certificate using a web browser by make a secure web connection to the vCenter server

Import the certificate into Local Machine certificate store and Place certificate in the following store

• Trusted People
• Trusted Root Certification Authorities
